Covishield Single Dose 61% Effective Against Delta variant: Covid Panel Chief

New COVID-19 variant ‘Lambda’ identified in 29 countries: WHO

WHO said Wednesday that a new variant of COVID-19, named Lambda initially detected in Peru and it has since been reported in 29 nations around the world, mostly in Latin America, including Argentina and Chile. The new Covid-19 variant, which was first detected in August previous year, accounts for around 81% of the cases reported since April in the country, according to WHO.
