Delhi to reimpose night curfew amid rising Covid cases
The night curfew will be relmposed again in the national capital Delhi from Monday amid rising fresh Covid infection on daily basis.
The Delhi government htas decided to place night curfew from Monday in view of rising Covid cases. The night curfew will be imposed from 11 PM to 5 AM in the morning.
The capital city on Sunday recorded 290 fresh Covid infection which is highest single day rise after June 10. According to the Delhi health department, the city had recorded single day 305 covid cases on June 10. The covid positivity rate has also climbed to 0.55 per cent. The city had recorded 0.67 per cent Covid positivity on June 4.
The number of active Covid cases have also crossed 1000 mark in the city and currently stands at 1103 which is highest single day rise after July 1. The health department has said that Delhi had recorded highest 1357 active Covid cases on July 1. One covid death has also been reported in the city in last 24 hrs, pushing death tally at 25,105.
Delhi has so far detected 79 cases of new Covid variant Omicron. Of these, 23 have been discharged from the hospital, said union health minister on Sunday.
