Delhi reports 17,335 Covid cases, 9 deaths in 24 hrs

Delhi on Friday reported 17,335 fresh Covid cases, highest in last eight months. This is the highest single-day rise after May 8 when the tally was at 17,364. The new cases have pushed the infection tally to 15,06, 798 in the city.
Total 9 Covid deaths have been reported in last 24 hrs, pushing the death toll at 25,136. This is the highest death in single day after June 26 when same numbers of Covid fatalities were reported.
Meanwhile, the Covid infection in the city has climbed at 17.73 per cent, highest in last eight months. According to the Delhi Health department, the city had recorded 17.75 per cent positivity rate on May 11.
The number of active Covid cases have jumped at 39,873 highest since May 20. According to the Health Department, Delhi had recorded the highest 40,214 active Covid cases on May 20.
With a 95.68 per cent Covid recovery rate, the active Covid cases rate in Delhi has gone up to 2.64 per cent and the death rate continues at 1.67 per cent. With 8,951 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 14,41,789. A total of 20,695 Covid patients are being treated in home isolation at present.
