Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Screening camp held at Tis Hazari Court Complex
In an effort to promote early detection and prevention of deadly cancer among court staffs, the Delhi State Cancer Institute held a ‘Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Screening’ (CAPS) camp at the Tis Hazari Court Complex.
The initiative provided several health services including free cancer screenings, expert consultations, awareness sessions, mammography, and HPV-DNA testing. Over one dozen mammography screenings and around 30 HPV-DNA tests were conducted for the participants.
A day prior to the camp, an online awareness session was held highlighting the importance of screening protocols for breast and cervical cancer as well as awareness about HPV vaccination.
Dr. Pragya Shukla, Head of Department, Clinical Oncology, Delhi State Cancer Institute, emphasized the importance of early detection. “Regular screening and timely diagnosis are the most effective tools in reducing the burden of breast and cervical cancers. Awareness about self-examination, HPV vaccination, and adherence to screening protocols can significantly improve outcomes and save lives,” she said.
