FUJIFILM India, a pioneer in healthcare imaging and information systems formalized their partnership with the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Thoracic Oncology Disease Management Group, Tata Memorial Center (TMC), Mumbai for establishing a training facility at TMC.
This basic and advanced Bronchoscopy training facility at one of the most prestigious Oncology institutes is a step forward in FUJIFILM’s objective of combining technological advancement with imparting technical skills to health care professionals. The center will provide comprehensive training and observership programs to Pulmonologists from Asia Pacific Region.
Speaking about the new collaboration, Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India said, “FUJIFILM India has always been at the forefront of healthcare innovation and strongly believes that training and education to the Health Care Professionals can significantly contribute to raising the standards of patient care in the country. TMC not only provides equitable oncology-care access to the region through its multiple Centres across India but also imparts training and education through oncology “skillset focused” academic courses under the Homi Bhabha National Institute, a deemed to be University, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. This initiative would not only scale up the existing training program in basic bronchoscopy, train observers in interventional pulmonology procedures, but also introduce the pulmonology observers and trainees to the niche field of Onco-Pulmonology and educate them on the synergistic role of the pulmonologist in an Oncology setup as part of a multidisciplinary team.”
