The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Saturday expressed unhappiness and apprehension with Covaxin and requested the medical superintendent to vaccinate with Covishield. The Residents Doctor Association wrote a letter to the medical superintendent and expressed a bit apprehensive about Covaxin and clarified not to participate in the immunisation drive.

The letter said that Covaxin manufactured by Bharat Biotech is being preferred in RML Hospital over Covishield developed by Serum Institute. The letter further requests to vaccinate health officials with Covishield which has completed all stages of trial before its roll-out.
The vaccination drive against corona is being carried out at 81 centers across the national capital Delhi. Total six central hospitals – AIIMS, Safdarjung, RML, Kalawati Saran Children Hospital and two ESI hospitals — have been chosen as sites for the drive. Besides these, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, Delhi-government run GTB Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, DDU Hospital, BSA Hospital, Delhi State Cancer Institute, ILBS Hospital are among the vaccination sites. A security guard was the first person at RML to administer the vaccine.
