India logs 2.34 lakh fresh Covid infection, positivity rate rises to 14.50%

India on Sunday reported 2,34,281 Covid cases in the last 24 hrs. In the same time span, 893 fresh Covid deaths have also been reported, said union health ministry on Sunday morning. With the addition of fresh 893 Covid fatalities, the total deaths toll has climbed at 4,94,091.


Meanwhile, the active caseload has reported a marginal decline at 18,84,937 which constitute 4.59 per cent of the country’s total Positive Cases. The recovery of 3,52,784 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,87,13,494. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 94.21 per cent.


Also in the same period, a total of 16,15,993 tests were conducted across the country. India has so far conducted over 72.73 crore cumulative tests.


Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 16.40 per cent while daily positivity rate has reported marginal rise at 14.50 per cent. 


With the administration of over 62 lakhs vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid inoculation coverage has reached 165.70 crore as of Sunday morning.
