Amid the alleged irregularities in the conduct of competitive tests including NEET-PG exam, the representatives of the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association met Union health minister J P Nadda to discuss key issues in medical education along with the postponement of the NEET-PG exam.
The FORDA members stressed on the importance of promptly announcing the new exam dates and conducting the exams transparently and efficiently. The NEET-PG exam was scheduled to be held on June 23 which was postponed a night before the entrance exam, as a “precautionary measure” in the wake of allegations on the integrity of certain competitive exams.
The FORDA delegation included its President Dr Aviral Mathur, General Secretary Dr Sarvesh Pandey, Dr Gautam Sharma, Dr Sarada, Dr Bharani, and others. The delegation also raised other significant issues pending resolution since before the Lok Sabha elections.
Dr Pandey said that the health minister assured the delegation that his ministry and the government are committed to the welfare of students and are determined to improve the current system. “Mr Nadda assured that the new dates will be announced soon and other concerns will also be addressed”, said Dr Pandey.
