Advocating doctors’ welfare top priority: Dr Girish Tyagi

Dr Girish Tyagi, Secretary-cum-registrar of the Delhi Medical Council, has been elected as the president-elect for 2024-25 of the Delhi Medical Association in a recently held election on Feb 11.

Dr Tyagi’s victory over Dr. Ajay Gambhir was resounding, marked by an extraordinary margin. This triumph underscores the overwhelming backing of the association’s members, said DMA. The DMA addresses doctors’ concerns, including violence against them. Issues related to doctors’ working conditions, such as long hours and inadequate facilities, will also be a priority for me.”

In an exclusive talk with Medlarge on his priority, Dr Tyagi said that advocating doctors’ welfare will be his top concern. He also said that growing assaults on doctors, which has become a growing concern within the medical community will be among his priorities.

“The Bio-medical waste, nursing association, assault against doctors and lack of infrastructure in the hospitals are some important agendas”, Dr Tyagi said.
