Dr Morepen launches ‘LightLife’ designed to tackle India’s growing obesity crisis

In a bid to tackle India’s growing obesity crisis, Dr Morepen on Tuesday announced the launch of ‘LightLife’ targeted at health-conscious individuals aged 25 to 50, particularly in Tier-I and Tier-II cities. According to the World Obesity Atlas 2024, over 25% of Indian adults are projected to face obesity by 2035. LightLife takes a scientific approach to weight loss, leveraging globally sourced prebiotics from the UK, probiotics from Belgium, and dietary fiber.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Varun Suri, CEO of Dr. Morepen, said: “India’s obesity market is expected to grow to $52.3 billion by 2032, reflecting the urgency to address weight management with solutions that are both safe and effective. At Dr. Morepen, we believe in science and trust, not shortcuts. With LightLife, we address these challenges without crash diets or harmful fads, offering freedom from complicated regimens.”

LightLife takes a scientific approach to weight loss, leveraging globally sourced prebiotics from the UK, probiotics from Belgium, and dietary fiber. These ingredients aim to enhance gut health, reduce cravings, and promote satiety, addressing critical aspects of weight management beyond traditional calorie-counting methods or restrictive diets.

The product is supported by a comprehensive wellness program that includes personalized nutrition plans, strength training guidance, and a dedicated health app to track progress. This multi-dimensional approach ensures that users achieve their weight goals while undergoing a lifestyle transformation.

With obesity rates currently affecting 24% of women and 23% of men in India, as per NFHS-5 data, LightLife also addresses associated risks such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders. The product is now available online and in select retail outlets.
