FORDA discusses ongoing NEET PG 2023 issues with Health Minister Mandaviya

In connection with the ongoing tussle between Health Ministry and PG Aspirants over the postponement of NEET PG 2023 Exam, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association of India on Wednesday met the health minister Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss the solution foreward.

The FORDA submitted a factual representation to the minister detailing the current situation and the impact it has on the students in regard of multiple queries and confusion surrounding the exam timeline. The Resident Doctors Association also presented the various complaints and inquiries received regarding the time gap between the exam and subsequent counselling.

Expressing gratitude to the minister for the decision to extend the date of internship cut off for eligibility in the exam which will benefit approximately 13,000 students, the association has urged the minister to take a constructive step in this direction and to clear the doubts of anxious students with a prompt communication.

Meanwhile, the health ministry on Tuesday extended the last date of completion of internship for MBBS aspirants to August 11 to complete the mandatory one-year internship. Earlier, on January 13 also, the cut-off date was extended from March 31 to June 30. The Ministry has also extended the cut-off date for BSD students to complete their internship to June 30.

The National Board of Examinations (NBEMS) in a notification said, “In continuation of NBEMS notice dated January 13 and pursuant to the directions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare… the cut-off date for completion of internship for the purpose of eligibility for NEET-PG 2023 has been further extended to August 11”.

The association said that it stands in solidarity with all students will continue to support throughout this process.
