Rheumatology Head at AIIMS to get national award for outstanding efforts in Science & Technology Communication

Her continuous efforts of making public aware of Arthritis disease have earned well-recognition across the nation

Dr. Uma Kumar of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has been selected for a national award for her outstanding efforts in Science & Technology Communication in the electronic media. The prestigious award will be given by the Department of Science & Technology, under Minister of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Dr. Kumar heads the Department of Rheumatology at AIIMS. Her continuous efforts of making public aware about Arthritis disease have earned well-recognition across the nation. She has been selected for her contribution in making public awareness and providing a simple diagnosis of this deadly disease.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has written a letter to Dr. Kumar informing her about the achievement for her contribution through electronic media. The award includes a citation and two lakh rupees.

The award will be presented to her on the occasion of National Science Day at Vigyan Bhavan on 28 February.
