NMC forms Task Force on Mental Health, FORDA welcomes initiative

The National Medical Commission has formed a National Task Force on Mental Health and Wellbeing of medical students.  The commission has asked medical students and faculties of the medical college to submit responses by May 3.

“Anti Ragging cell in NMC has constituted a National Task Force on Mental Health and Wellbeing of Medical Students. Task Force has decided to conduct an online survey of medical students as well as the faculty in medical colleges”, said the National Medical Commission in an official notification.

Lauding the initiative of NMC, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association of India said, “A much needed initiative to address the burning issue of Mental Health amongst medical graduates and postgraduates. Wheels are turning, we will fight and defeat this demon of mental stress, TOGETHER”.

Meanwhile, the NMC has asked all medical students and faculties of the medical college to submit their responses by 3 rd May 2024. Identity of the participants will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone. It will be used by the Task Force only for the purpose of analysis and recommendations in its report, it said.
