Delhi records 249 fresh Covid cases, highest single day rise after June 13

Delhi on Saturday reported a substantial growth in new Covid cases as the city recorded 249 fresh infection, highest after June 13. With 249 new reported Covid cases, the infection tally has climbed to 14,43,062 in the city. According to the Delhi Health Department, the city has reported highest single day rise at 255 on June 13.

The number of active cases in the city also have climbed to 934, highest in last five and half months. According to the health department, the city had reported highest 992 active covid cases on July 4.

One Covid death has also been reported in the capital city in last 24 hrs, pushing the death tol at 25,104.

Delhi’s Covid infection positivity rate has also jumped to 0.43 per cent which is highest in last six months. The city had recorded 0.46 positivity rate on June 9. With 96 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 14,17,024. A total of 464 Covid patients are being treated in home isolation at present.

With a 98.19 per cent Covid recovery rate, the active Covid cases rate in Delhi has gone up to 0.06 per cent. The Covid death rate in the city stands at 1.74 per cent. The total number of Covid containment zones has extended to 248 in the city.

Meanwhile, a total of 57,295 new tests — 52,444 RT-PCR and 4,851 Rapid Antigen – were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 3,23,46,295 so far.
