Delhi govt to scrap Mohalla Clinic running on rented premises

Coming into action days after forming government in the national capital Delhi, the ruling BJP seems cracking down on AAP’s alleged corruption in Arvind Kejriwal’s world class Mohalla Clinic.

In a strict action, the BJP government is planning to scrap all Mohalla Clinics facilities which is functional from rented premises.

The Delhi government will upgrade 553 Mohalla Clinics to Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and establish 413 new U-AAMs under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Officials aim to enroll one lakh beneficiaries under PM-JAY within 30 days. District Magistrates will monitor health schemes, including the 100-day TB campaign and NCD Screening drive

 the state government and the National Health Authority have started the preparation for onboarding the state. Under the scheme approved by the Cabinet, a total of Rs 10 lakh health cover will be provided to each beneficiary, with the Centre and Delhi government contributing Rs 5 lakh each.

Meanwhile, after the approval from Delhi cabinet, the training for the staff who will be generating the Ayushman cards has begun as the National Health Authority along with the Delhi government is working on creating the beneficiary data base. “Delhi government has decided to join Ayushman Bharat Yojana, so under this, the state government and the central government-National Health Authority have already started the preparation for onboarding. So, there are several phases in it. The first phase is about the preparation of MoU signing, where the government and NHA will sign the MoU to implement this scheme and then there will be the activity of onboarding the hospitals present in Delhi. After that, there is training of field level workers to make the cards of the beneficiaries”, said Kiran Gopal Vaska, Joint Secretary & Mission Director (ABDM), National Health Authority.
