Bird flu among humans may be rare, but you also need to care, know here

The history of Bird Flu says that transmission of Bird-to-human or human-to-human transmission of this flu is rare. However, doctors advise that humans also need to take care.

The doctors advise to take precautionary measures like avoiding consuming uncooked or partially cooked chicken.  We need to take extra care and avoid contaminated surfaces as Avian influenza can spread to humans through droppings, saliva and secretion of the infected birds.

Those persons involved in handling poultry birds need to take extra care like it should clean and disinfect any suspected infected areas and wear protective gear, such as gloves. One should avoid going where bird carcasses are there and immediately deaths have been reported.

Some people like pregnant woman and weaker immunity system and above 56 are at a high risk of getting very sick from bird flu infection. The first case of Bird Flu was reported in Maharashtra and Gujarat in February 2005, followed by a second outbreak in Madhya Pradesh in March 2006.
