Over 38% households in Delhi-NCR suffer viral like symptoms this monsoon

A survey has revealed that over 38 per cent households with one or more individuals is suffering with viral or Covid like symptoms during this monsoon this time. The survey received over 13,000 responses from residents of Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Out of total, 63 per cnet respondents were men while 37 per cent were respondents were women.

The survey conducted by LocalCircles asked residents of Delhi NCR, “How many individuals do you have in your household in Delhi NCR who currently have one or more Covid/ flu/ viral fever symptoms like fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough, headache, stomach issues, joint pain, body ache, respiratory issues, etc.?”

The question received 13,988 responses with 62% stating “no one, thankfully”. However, 13% of respondents stated they have “2-3 individuals” in their household who are unwell; and 25% stated they had “1 individual” unwell in their household. To sum up, 38% households surveyed in Delhi NCR currently have one or more individuals with viral/Covid like symptoms.

With 4 in 10 households surveyed in Delhi NCR having one or more individuals with viral/ Covid like symptoms and the mosquito borne diseases on the rise, the Government and civic authorities should take the initiative to spread awareness among people about the steps to be taken during seasonal change, and against vector borne and viral diseases. With term exams season coming up, extra precautions must also be taken by schools to minimize spread.

The survey was conducted via LocalCircles platform, and all participants were validated citizens who had to be registered with LocalCircles to participate in this survey.
