In a first, ESIC Medical College installs SSi Mantra Robotic system

ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, Haryana becomes the first hospital in Haryana and the first across all ESIC Hospitals in the entire country to have installed SSi Mantra Surgical Robotic System – the Made in India; Made for the World surgical robotic system from SS Innovations.

In the words of Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Founder, Chairman and CEO, SS Innovations, “SS Innovations and ESIC Hospitals share a synergistic view of providing the best healthcare to the marginalised and weaker sections of the country. The first placement of SSi Mantra surgical robotic system at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad marks a beginning of a journey in this direction so that every individual of this country, irrespective of his/her economic and social status, can benefit from this technology and improve the quality of their lives”.

Soon after the installation of SSi Mantra, a radical nephrectomy surgery was successfully performed usring the SSi Mantra System under the guidance of Dr. Nishant Gurnani, a highly accomplished Urologist, along with his enthusiastic team at ESIC marking the first robotic surgery done across all ESIC Hospitals across the country, setting the stage for many more to come.   

The SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System, by SS Innovations, is a modular multi-arm system with many advanced technology features. It allows for the use of 3-5 robotic arms, has an open-faced ergonomic Surgeon Command Centre, 32-inch large 3D 4K monitor, a 23-inch 2D Touch panel monitor for all patient related information display, a virtual real-time image of the robotic Patient Side Arm Carts, and the ability for superimposition of 3D models of diagnostic imaging.
