EVOLVE 2025
The Indian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (InSEV) successfully hosted its inaugural conference, EVOLVE 2025, from March 24-26, 2025, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. This groundbreaking event marked a significant milestone in India’s scientific community, bringing together leading experts to discuss the latest advancements in extracellular vesicle (EV) research.
A Pioneering Initiative in EV Science
Established in 2023 by Prof. Sujata Mohanty, InSEV is a premier professional organization dedicated to promoting extracellular vesicle research in India. With a strong interdisciplinary approach, the society unites scholars, clinicians, and industry leaders to advance EV science and its applications. InSEV is also affiliated with the global EV Network of the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV), with its president serving as a board member of ISEV.
Distinguished Participation and Expert Panels
EVOLVE 2025 gathered an impressive lineup of 13 international speakers, around 30 eminent national experts, and approximately 200 delegates from prestigious research institutions, academia, and industry. The conference was officially inaugurated by Prof. Vinod K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, who attended as the Chief Guest. Prof. Shiv K. Sarin, Director of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), was the Guest of Honor.
The event also hosted esteemed Guests of Eminence, including:
Prof. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS New Delhi
Dr. Nikhil Tandon, Dean (Research), AIIMS New Delhi
Dr. Kaushal Verma, Dean (Academics), AIIMS New Delhi
Prof. G. Karthikeyan, Director of THSTI
Dr. Alka Sharma, Senior Advisor, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India
Adding to the global stature of the conference, four board members of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV)—Dr. Suresh Mathivanan, Dr. Ana Claudia Trocoli Torrecilhas, Dr. My G. Mahoney, and Dr. Andreas Moeller—delivered insightful lectures. Additionally, Dr. Norhayati Binti Liaqat Ali Khan, President of the Malaysian EV Society, shared her expertise during the event.
Cutting-Edge Discussions and Hands-On Training
EVOLVE 2025 featured in-depth discussions on the latest advancements in EV research, covering fundamental biology, translational applications, and potential therapeutic breakthroughs. To complement these discussions, a hands-on preconference workshop was held on March 22-23, 2025, offering participants practical training in EV isolation, characterization, and functional analysis.
A Significant Step for India in EV Research
The conference underscored India’s growing leadership in extracellular vesicle research and its commitment to fostering international collaborations in this rapidly expanding field. By providing a platform for knowledge exchange among researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals, EVOLVE 2025 played a crucial role in shaping the future of EV-based diagnostics and therapeutics.
With its resounding success, EVOLVE 2025 has set the stage for future advancements and strengthened India’s position in the global EV research community.
