Despite center’s guidelines, hospital’s director occupies two key positions

Despite health ministry’s clear-cut guidelines that the Central Health Service (CHS) doctor cannot hold multiple administrative posts, the national capital Delhi’s top hospital’s director is sitting on two important key positions.

“It has come to the notice of this Ministry that number of CHS doctors are simultaneously holding multiple administrative posts which is not desirable. Therefore, all CHS units are directed to ensure that no CHS doctor is occupying more than one administrative post.

However, Delhi’s top Ram Manohar Lohia’s Hospital Director Dr Ajay Shukla who is currently holding the post of Director and Medical Superintendent of the hospital, as per the website of the hospital as of now. Also, two doctors of the same department hold the position of Department Heads.

In addition with the responsibilities of MS of the hospital, Dr Shukla is also holding the post of Head of Department of Orthopaedics. Dr Shukla continues to be in the position of head of this department.

Meanwhile, a source in the hospital said that Dr Rahul Khare has also been appointed as the head of the Department of Orthopaedics.    

Adding to the surprise, both doctors of the same Department of Orthopaedics continue to write as the Head of Department of Orthopaedics in top RML Hospital.
