NEET UG 2024 counselling likely to start by month-end

The counseling session for Neet-UG is likely to start by the end of this month. The National Medical Commission (NMC) communicated its schedule for finalisation of the seat matrix for UG and PG seats in the last week of June indicating that it will finalise the UG seat matrix by third week of July and PG seat matrix by mid-August. However, the congress has demanded that the medical entrance exam Neet-UG be conducted again and all “paper leak scams” be thoroughly investigated under the Supreme Court’s supervision.

The health ministry on Saturday clarified that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has not yet notified the counseling schedule of Neet UG and PG courses for the year 2024.  “The counselling schedule for Neet UG and PG is announced by MCC on its website on the basis of completion of the exam process and finalisation of seat matrix by National Medical Commission”, said the ministry in a statement.

“For the year 2024, the NMC has communicated its schedule for finalisation of the seat matrix for UG and PG seats in the last week of June indicating that it will finalise the UG seat matrix by third week of July and PG seat matrix by mid-August. MCC will accordingly notify the counselling schedule,” said the ministry.  In the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, the counselling for UG seats commenced on Jan 19, 2022, Oct 11, 2022 and July 20, 2023 respectively.
