The rhythm of the campaign was allegedly interrupted by CTVS consultants Dr. A.K Bisoi. As the nursing officers have complained, Dr. A.K Bisoi came and started verbally abusing female nursing officers. He started abusing, raising the question about the validity and authenticity of such programmes.

A campaign advocating for Namaste in the place of shaking hands called ‘Namaste Campaign’ was launched in Save Antibiotocs Week in AIIMS on 18 November 2019. The campaign was being organized by three women nursing officers of the Hospital Infection Control Team of the CTC Department of AIIMS. All the members of the CN Center were involved in making the campaign successful, addressing the negative impacts of shaking hands and how person can get infected while shaking hands with infected person.

As the programme was approved by Chief of CTC, he started shouting and questioning about the authority for approving such programme.

However, the nursing officers narrated the whole story and provided all information about the programme, but as the nurses have complained he was not ready to listen even a single word and went on to tear all the posters and banners of the programme. As the female nurses opposed his action, Dr. Bisoi started using abusive language and threatening for further consequences.

AIIMS Nurses Union has strongly raised the matter and staged several protest extending support to those three nurses for discharging their duty. The Nurses Union has demanded unconditional strong and immediate action against the culprit from the concerned authorities.

A Premier healthcare institute like AIIMS Delhi has no proper place where complaints related to workplace harassment of female employees may be lodged, says AIIMS Nurses Union. As one week has been passed and yet those three female nursing officers of cardio thoracic centre are still struggling to get the status of their complaint against accused Dr AK Bisoi. AIIMS Administration has totally failed to deliver justice. And Justice delayed is Justice Denied.
