Amid tussle over NEET MDS Exam between aspirants and National Board of Examination, the cut-off date for internship completion has been extended to June 30, 2024 for eligibility for NEET MDS 2024.
Even after the eligibility has been extended, around 6000 students will not be able to write for the exam as their internship will be completed in July and August and September. NEET-MDS aspirants have again approached the Supreme Court alleging that the Union Government has not yet taken a decision on postponing the NEET-MDS exam scheduled on March 18.
As per the recent notification, the NEET MDS 2024 examination will proceed as per the previously notified schedule on March 18, 2024. Candidates completing their internship between April 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024, and meeting all other prescribed criteria outlined in the NEET MDS 2024 Information Bulletin, are eligible to apply. An online application window for NEET MDS 2024 will be available from March 9, 2024 to March 11, 2024 on the NBEMS website.
NEET MDS students are urging health ministry to postpone the exam as over thousands of students are not able to write exam as per the current notification. Highlighting that over 8000 students will not be able to sit for exam if it happens as per schedule, several students association have written to health ministry for the postponement of exam. Due to Covid outbreak, the students were not able to continue their studies as per scheduled time. The absence of a definitive decision from the government regarding the postponement of the NEET MDS exam has sparked outrage among aspirants and student associations alike.
The delayed announcement of NEET MDS exam dates, initially scheduled for February 9th but officially postponed to March 18th on January 20th, has severely impeded aspirants’ preparation and inflicted mental strain. The scant two-month notice stands in stark contrast to NEET PG aspirants, who were informed of their postponement six months prior.
