The seven states include Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab account for more than 63% of the active cases in the country.

India reported on Tuesday lowest daily COVID19 infection almost in a month. The data showed today total 75,083 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 1,053 deaths over the same period.

India is second to only USA in COVID19 infection with 5.6 million cases total across the country. The total death count stands at 88,935 people in India. However, India is consistently reporting the highest tally of daily cases anywhere in the world in proportion to dense population.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level virtual meeting with the chief ministers and health ministers of seven worst-hit COVID19 states on Wednesday to review the status and preparedness to manage the situation.

The seven states include Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab account for more than 63% of the active cases in the country.

Maharashtra reports 18,390 new Covid-19 cases and 392 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking total positive cases to 12,42,770 till date, including 2,72,410 active cases.
